RAISING THE STANDARD IN HUMAN PERFORMANCE.
Started in 2012 to provide baseball players a home to develop both on and off the field, MASH has matured to focus on all aspects of athletic and human development. Our commitment to Raise the Standard in Human Performance is accomplished by valuing leadership, consistency, self-awareness, independence, and confidence within our community and by promoting a growth mindset, critical thinking, and an actions over words approach.
Growth Minded. Our original mission was “to create a community inspiring growth.” We cannot impact the growth of others unless we are consistently asking and challenging ourselves to improve. This mindset has been the backbone of our culture and community since our inception in 2012.
Critical Thinking & Solution Oriented. We as humans face challenges every day. Especially in sports, performance is dynamic and evaluated, sometimes by the minute. We continually strive to create solutions to near-term problems for long-term results.
Default to Action. People doubt what you say, but believe what you do. We must prove our value every day and we do this through continuous action to lead, serve and compete.
WE OFFER AN ATHLETICS ONLY OPTION FOR MASH ACADEMY. ATHLETIC ONLY ATHLETES ARRIVE AT 12:30PM AND TRAIN ALONGSIDE ACADEMY STUDENT-ATHLETES UNTIL 3PM.
ATHLETICS CURRICULUM
Our comprehensive curriculum is structured across three distinct tiers, based loosely on age and more firmly on each individual’s developmental level athletically and within the game of baseball.
300 Level – Varsity Curriculum: Elite Performance at this Level and the Next
This curriculum is designed for student-athletes preparing to compete at the varsity level and beyond. Focusing on position-specific skill refinement, developing physicality in the weight-room, and building self-awareness on the field the 300-level curriculum challenges athletes to pursue their potential daily. Individuals participate in in-depth conversations about the game within the game, learning to evaluate and adjust pitch-to-pitch as situations evolve. Throughout the year, athletes increase their independence, taking an active role in the development of their processes and in-game strategies. Technology integration increases once more, with student-athletes learning how to interpret and use the data collected by Trackman, Blast, and HitTrax to inform their respective approaches to pitching and hitting. The curriculum includes advanced strength and conditioning programs, sports psychology components, recruitment preparation, and leadership development through the mentoring of younger athletes. Players continue to improve their baseball IQ, developing the confidence to perform under pressure and maintaining our commitment to continuous growth.
200 Level – Intermediate Progression: Improving Skills and Strategic Thinking
This tier focuses on the transition to a full-sized field and is designed generally for 14U and 15U student-athletes. The 200-level curriculum introduces increased complexity in both technical skills and mental development, emphasizing consistency and increased independence. Players advance to refined pitching mechanics and strategy, situational hitting, and defensive positioning while taking greater ownership of their development through self-evaluation and goal-setting processes. Technology use expands to include the measurement of skill-specific metrics, with the goal of driving intent and providing objective goals. More specialization takes place in this tier, but still athletes are exposed to the game holistically, using knowledge of various positions to improve baseball IQ and overall athleticism. Student-athletes progress in the weight room as well, building on the foundational movement patterns learned in the 100-level curriculum and shifting their attention to improving athleticism and increasing force production. The curriculum incorporates mental preparation techniques, and more sophisticated team strategies that require critical thinking within specific game situations.
100 Level - Youth Foundation: Building Character Through Fundamentals
Designed loosely for student-athletes competing at the 11U-13U level, this foundational tier emphasizes fundamental skill development through engaging, game-based learning that instills our core values from day one. Players at this level do not specialize in any one position, instead focusing on learning the game holistically. Fundamental throwing, pitching, and hitting mechanics; defensive skills and positioning; and foundational weight-room movements are engrained and built upon within this curriculum. Technology integration remains age-appropriate, incorporating simple video feedback, as well as tools to gamify training and track personal improvement. The curriculum prioritizes the development of a growth mindset over comparison with peers, and an emphasis on the importance of progress over perfection. Baseball IQ and critical thinking improves as student-athletes are exposed to basic situational decision-making drills across multiple positions.
