Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 12:30 PM (5 hours/day)
School Year: 170 days (September – May)
Compensation: $35/hour (850 expected hours)

MASH Academy is an innovative hybrid education model that combines high-level academics through Minnesota Virtual Academy (MNVA) with elite baseball training and high-performance development. Designed for middle and high school student-athletes, MASH Academy provides a structured, supportive environment that allows students to thrive in both the classroom and on the field.

Position Summary
The Learning Coach is a key academic support role at MASH Academy. This individual serves as a daily mentor and guide for students working through their MNVA online coursework. The Learning Coach fosters accountability, focus, and confidence—helping students stay on track academically while managing the unique demands of being a student-athlete.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide daily academic support to students across various subject areas (grades 5–12)

  • Monitor student progress in MNVA courses and help manage assignment pacing

  • Offer one-on-one and small group guidance to reinforce concepts or address learning challenges

  • Track and report daily attendance

  • Communicate regularly with MNVA teachers, parents/guardians, and MASH staff to ensure academic alignment

  • Maintain an organized, focused, and respectful academic workspace

  • Identify when students need additional support or adjustments (IEP/504/other)

  • Motivate students to develop personal responsibility, time management, and resilience

  • Support the execution of school-wide initiatives, culture activities, and learning habits

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational and communication skills

  • Ability to motivate and support middle and high school students

  • Experience working with youth in an academic, coaching, or mentoring capacity

  • Comfort with educational technology and virtual learning platforms

  • Reliable, consistent, and positive presence

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or post-secondary education in education, psychology, coaching, or related field

  • Experience supporting students in online or hybrid learning environments

  • Background working with athletes or performance-based youth programs
